About Shri Radha Gopinath ji Temple
The temple is situated in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, near Keshi Ghat and not very far from the Yamuna River. It is one of the seven great temples of Vrindavan (Saptadevalaya), each established by Gaudiya Vaishnava Acharyas.
History Shri Radha Gopinath ji Temple
Established in the 16th century, the original deity of Shri Gopinath Ji was discovered by Madhavendra Puri and later worshipped by his disciple Parmanand Bhattacharya.
The temple gained prominence when Shri Madhu Pandit, a disciple of Shri Gadadhar Pandit (close associate of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu), began worshipping Gopinath Ji.
During the Mughal invasions in the late 17th century (Aurangzeb’s rule), the original deity was moved to Jaipur for protection. Today, the original Shri Gopinath Ji is worshipped in Jaipur, while a replica deity is installed in Vrindavan.
