About Govind Dev Ji Temple
Govind Dev Ji Temple in Vrindavan is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, showcasing stunning architecture and spiritual significance.
History of Govind Dev Ji Temple
The temple was built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh of Jaipur, a general under Mughal emperor Akbar.
The deity of Govind Dev Ji was discovered by Rupa Goswami, a follower of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and is believed to be the exact replica of Krishna's form during his incarnation.
The temple has undergone destruction and reconstruction, with the original seven-storey structure being reduced to three storeys after Aurangzeb's invasion.
